The GRADE Book is an official publication of the GRADE working group, providing the most up-to-date and accurate description of the GRADE approach. It incorporates the latest advancements, methodologies, and best practices, ensuring that users have access to practical guidance for assessing the certainty of evidence and formulating recommendations.
The GRADE book is designed for GRADE users with various roles, including:
1. Health professionals addressing specific health questions in practice and policy, such as clinicians, public health officers, and policymakers;
2. Decision-makers, such as participants in guideline development groups, individuals making coverage decisions, or those conducting evidence syntheses, including clinicians and public health officers advising others or appraising GRADE outputs; and
3. Evidence synthesis experts or those leading guideline development efforts.
By the end of 2026, the GRADE Book will fully replace the GRADE Handbook, which originated in 2003 and was last fully updated in 2013. Until then, only select chapters have been revised and made available, with new content being added regularly as the GRADE working group, through its GRADE Guidance Group (G3), continues its review and production process. For sections that have not yet been updated, please refer to the original GRADE Handbook.
